IS YOUR MANUSCRIPT ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE JURNAL GOLDEN ABDIMAS?

All manuscripts submitted to JGA publications must be original works that have not been published elsewhere. In this age of electronic publications, editors occasionally have difficulty determining whether a manuscript that has appeared on a web site should or should not be viewed as being published previously. The following guidelines are intended to guide editors as they ponder the question of previous publication.

  1. JGA authors may post working versions of their papers on their personal web sites and non-peer-reviewed repositories. Such postings are not considered by JGA as previous publication.
  2. Authors that choose to post their working papers on their personal web sites are advised to protect their copyright by including a disclaimer on the paper itself. As JGA editors have an interest in protecting authors’ copyright, they should advise authors of this practice whenever possible. JGA suggests that authors use the following disclaimer:

Copyright 20__. Name of author. All rights reserved. This paper is for the reader’s personal use only.

  1. Articles that have appeared in a peer-reviewed “electronic collection” or as part of a peer-reviewed “paper series” on a web site are considered by JGA to have been published previously and may not be submitted to the JGA publication.
  2. Once a submitted article has been accepted for publication, authors must, if possible, modify manuscripts or headers in non-peer-reviewed electronic collections (including their own personal web sites) to indicate that the paper is forthcoming in an JGA. Once the article is published, authors should modify manuscripts or headers to indicate that a revised version of the paper is now published, and should include a complete citation to the published paper.

ONCE YOU HAVE SUBMITTED A MANUSCRIPT TO THE JURNAL GOLDEN ABDIMAS, WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS FOR SHARING THAT MANUSCRIPT?

Most JGA have a “Green Open Access” policy which allows authors to archive and re-use their  contributions as indicated below. Authors may:

  1. Share the version of the contribution submitted the journal (version 1) anywhere at any time.
  2. Once the contribution has been accepted for publication, share or post the accepted version (version 2) of the contribution on the author’s personal website, the author’s department’s website, the repository of the author’s institution, the repository of another institution, a subject repository or another database without restriction or embargo.
  3. Use the published contribution (version 3) for teaching needs or to supply on an individual basis to research colleagues, provided that such supply is not for commercial purposes.
  4. Use the published contribution (version 3) in a book authored or edited by author at any time after publication in the journal. This does not apply to books where authors are contributing a chapter to a book authored or edited by someone else.

Authors may not post the published contribution (version 3) on a website or in a repository without permission from JGA or the journal’s publisher.
